Happy New Year, y’all!
I took the holidays completely off, and had two very Epic road-trip experiences! So, so good for the soul! Getting out in nature is truly my favorite thing to do!
I was fortunate to get to explore the high desert of Big Bend National Park over Thanksgiving break. And then, had a magical two-week road trip through Colorado + New Mexico over Christmas/New Year’s. We explored wilderness, snow-capped mountains, healing hot springs, and a visit to the famous Meow Wolf in Santa Fe! Coming home from all of that amazingness, I am ready to rock 2018 along with you!
I’ve got something really cool cooking up, and I can't wait to share it with you! But the details are still coming together.
It’s BIG! (really big)
The next post from me (hopefully within a few days) will tell you all about it!
In the meantime, I want to share some of my favorite images from my Thanksgiving Big Bend trip.
I got to co-lead a hiking group of 15 people in the Chisos Basin for 5 days. Our biggest day was over 18 miles hiking all of the South Rim Trail. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for us! We were in shorts, and warmed by the sun all day, and the nights were sleeping-bag-cozy, mostly in the 40s, with clear night skies, and amazing stars.
In addition to planning + executing all of our camp meals, I also took a lot of pictures of everyone, and was able to talk a couple of fellow hikers into snapping a few great shots of me out on the trails! It's so rare that I get to have great images of me doing all the cool things that I get to do, amongst the gorgeous backdrops of all these amazing places I get to go!
I've decided that we should all be so lucky to have great images of ourselves doing epic things, and having adventurous experiences! (psst...that’s a tiny hint about what I’m creating/manifesting to share with you soon!)
But, more about that later!
Back to Big Bend…
If you've never been there, I highly recommend putting it on your near-future bucket list! (I can help make that happen for you, too, as we’ll be leading another trip there for Thanksgiving 2018. Let me know if you want the deets). And, If you HAVE been to Big Bend, then these images are sure to make you more than a little wistful, and ignite your wanderlust, again, in a big way!
I hope you enjoy these shots from our most awesome Texas national Park!
(more pics to come soon from my Christmas break road trip through CO + NM)
Jen Smith looks radiant and stunning in her headshots from her personal branding session at the studio!
The all-woman team of Bloom Communications marketing firm in Austin, TX came into the studio for some new images and a whole lotta fun! Brianna, the head of the firm, came to me wanting to get a smart new look for her team's bios for their web site, and we set out to make it a fun experience, as well! It was the perfect blend of commercial portraits, hair + make-up, champagne samosas, great Pandora tunes, and some co-working space vibes, as each girl took turns in front of the camera, while the rest laughed and nibbled and got some work done on their laptops! I had such a great day with all of them! Super awesome women!
"As part of my agency's website redesign process, I wanted to incorporate our team's headshots in a professional manner as well as show energy and personality. Larissa took careful attention to create the perfect environment to produce the look and feel I was hoping for. In addition to her creative photography skills, she made the experience fun and memorable for everyone. We were all pleased when there were so many great photos for us to choose from. The final photos are now proudly displayed on my agency's website."
